Check engine light came on and now my 2000 Caravan 2.4 litre runs like a tractor.?

Engine light came on on Dodge Caravan 2.4 litre DOHC 4cyl. Now it rocks and vibrates like a tractor engine. It is not "missing" but sounds like it wants to quit. Any ideas as to what suddenly caused this? PCV valve, EGR, fuel filter? Thanks!
